ABOUT US

Pronounced “Mooo Mac”, we have been offering Land-based training and assessments for over 30 years.

The training arm of the company was initially established by Chris and Anne Hughes in 1986, as Woodland Skills Training Centre, delivering short courses to a niche sector of the industry within the local area of Powys.

Mid Wales & The Marches Assessment Centre was founded in the early 2000’s, in partnership with Janet Rowlands, in order to deliver NPTC Assessments to the wider local community within central Wales and the borders.

It rapidly became apparent that the two “arms” of the business could work in harmony with each other, and the Training and Assessment centre’s were merged together to form mwmac Ltd in 2002. The company quickly became highly-regarded throughout the UK and Europe as delivering high quality training and assessments to the industry.

With a head office located in a small woodland near Builth Wells, Powys, and staff with collectively 200-ish years’ of practical experience within the industry, mwmac Ltd is in a prime position to cover both Wales and the wider UK. As one of only a handful of registered Centres to offer both training and assessment to its customers; we are able to provide certification which complies with current legislation, guidance and best practice.

Across Wales, the UK and Europe, we work with experienced Instructors and Assessors to deliver high quality training and assessment to individuals and businesses who wish to increase their range of skills and support their Continual Professional Development.

We also work with a variety of other Training Providers across Wales, the UK and Europe, to enable them to access assessments for their trainees via our Out Centre service; this service includes providing quality assurance to meet the requirements of the regulatory bodies.

Due to the high risk nature of the Land-based industries; the prime aim of mwmac Ltd is to enhance the quality of skills and to boost the health and safety knowledge of practitioners to make the industry, and associated industries, a safer place to work.
