Aerial Tree Rigging

Who is this for?

This course is for those who are already qualified arborists who would like to enhance their skills further in arboriculture.

Often when carrying out works on trees, standard free-fall techniques are not suitable, this is where aerial rigging comes in. This specialist course will provide you with the knowledge, skills and understanding to carry out aerial tree rigging and safe dismantling techniques.

Learners must be physically fit and not suffering from vertigo or similar conditions or on medication that could affect their safety.

4 days Training with an additional 1 day City & Guilds NPTC Assessment

Venue:

This is normally completed on a mwmac site locally to Builth Wells or Llandrindod Wells.

If you have enough people for a full course we are able to run this course on your site (subject to a pre-course visit).

Pre-requisites:

Chainsaw Maintenance & Crosscutting | Felling & Processing Small Trees up to 380mm | Tree Climbing & Aerial Rescue | Use of Saw from Rope & Harness

Qualification:    

City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate of Competence in Aerial Tree Rigging

CERTIFICATE TYPE:

mwmac Training Certificate & City & Guilds NPTC Qualification Certificate

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • To be able to assess requirements and limitations for tree rigging operations.
  • To be able to calculate loads
  • To be able to select rigging equipment appropriate for the task and loads.
  • To be able to remove branches with the assistance of various lowering methods.
  • To present produce as specified for subsequent extraction or loading.
  • To be able to work safely.
