Who is this for?

This course is designed specifically for people supervising sites where chainsaw operations are taking place or may take place at any time in the future.

It will provide the attendees with an understanding of the basics of good saw operator techniques and best practice.

Venue:

This is normally completed at mwmac Ltd, near Builth Wells, Powys.
If you have enough people for a full course, we are able to run this course on your site (subject to a pre-course visit).

Pre-requisites:

None

Qualification:    

This is a training only course, supported by FISA, designed by mwmac Ltd.

Course Objectives:

  • Understanding the role of a Chainsaw Supervisor
  • Site preparation, risk assessment, PPE and equipment preparation
  • Supervision of health and safety on a worksite, including management techniques when managing chainsaw operators.
  • Understanding of safe and unsafe chainsaw practices
  • Promotion of a “safety first” culture; incident, accident and near miss
