Tree Identification

Who is this for?

This course is for trainees who wish to improve their ability to identify tree species. The course includes identification of tree species from buds, twigs, bark and foliage samples plus identification at the mature stage of growth, irrespective of season.

The use of reference books for identification is an essential part of this course. Therefore help will be given to trainees in the recommendation of good reference materials.

The distribution of tree species varies considerably, as does their form. Therefore it is important that this course is held within the same locality as the trainees work.

With optional objectives and seasonal change, instructors should, prior to the course, ascertain the trainee’s needs to ensure that the course is tailored to meet their requirements
